Welcome to Terry Malloy’s Pigeon Coop. Named after one of Marlon Brando’s most iconic characters from the 1954 classic On The Waterfront, The Coop is a place to read about all things film and TV. There’ll be thoughts and opinions, reviews, trailers, and in depth analysis on an array of films and topics, not just the latest films at the cinema.

Hi there, I was recently awarded a “7×7 link award” by a fellow blogger and was asked to pass it on to seven other blogs that I follow and like. I have chosen your blog as one the seven; here is a link at my blog to explain further http://claratsi.wordpress.com/2012/04/23/7-x-7-hoooorayyyy/
Well done and thanks for your great blogging!
I just came across your blog from Claratsi after the 7×7 link award. I have to say, I like what is see so far. I’ll pop in again.
Good day to you fellow blogger, today I have nominated you for THE ONE LOVELY BLOG AWARD!
CONGRATULATIONS on your great blog, check it out here: http://claratsi.wordpress.com/2012/06/16/one-lovely-blog-award/
Hi there,
I have nominated you for an award. Check it out here: http://claratsi.wordpress.com/2012/08/15/the-liebster-award-claratsi-is-pleased/
In the interests of community at your leisure take the time to share your award or as I know these things can take some time, check out the other bloggers nominated and share a comment or two. (If you don’t wish to reciprocate or you have already been nominated that’s fine, I know these things take time, just a mention or a visit would be great!)
Congratulations on having a great blog and thank you for visiting my blog too!
Cheers,
Claratsi
Thank you very much, appreciate it! I’m going to have to get round to doing one of these at some point.
no worries, may need to book a day off to do it cos’ they take a while.
Random question. How did you set up that Archive tab? It makes it really easy to find your stuff.
I created a new page called ‘Archive’ which put it alongside the ‘About’ page, etc. Then for each month I create a new page, ‘Sept 2012′ or whatever month it is, and you the ‘Archive’ page as its parent page (which is done using the options on the right hand side). I then have to edit the page and manually create a link to each new post. I also have to change the order of the pages every time I create a new one. It can be pretty annoying at times but, like you say, I think it makes navigation that bit easier. Hope that helps and thanks for stopping by!
Thanks. Sounds like some real work. If I find the time I might try and do it myself.
Great looking site. I’m still a bit of a novice when it comes to my site and could learn a thing or two from yours!
Thanks very much, it’s nothing more than a standard template, however. Thanks for stopping by, hope to see you round these parts again. I’ve just popped over to your site and it looks good, I’ll be sure to have a read of your stuff
Just so you know, I have just nominated you for The Very Inspiring Blogger Award
http://mrrumsey.wordpress.com/2012/12/18/awards/comment-page-1/#comment-569
Thank you very much sir, this is very much appreciated!
I thought that picture was young Marlon Brando, but wasn’t sure. Now I learn that pic is from “On The Waterfront” and I actually have the DVD, but have not watched it yet. I have a ton of DVD’s I bought that I haven’t watched yet. Casablanca, Lawrence of Arabia, Rear Window and a slew of other classics.
I did watch “12 Angry Men” recently and liked that a lot. I doubt if any titles I mentioned above will top that one. Such a simple concept that would seem hard to execute, but the writer and Lumet pulled it off brilliantly. I love debate, so for one man to convince 11 others to change their minds on a jury is a genius premise to me, and since it’s #6 on the IMDB top 250 list of all time it seems I am not alone.
Look forward to your upcoming reviews; check out my blog, as well, if you get a chance
